The “Bürgli” was built in Wollishofen in 1834.
In 1892, the “Bürgli” received its restaurant licence.

The building was purchased by the city council of Zurich in 1955 which maintained and renovated the estate. In 1995, we were happy to celebrate the takeover of the “Bürgli”. Since then, the “Bürgli” has developed from a local pub into one of Zurich’s most known restaurants for comfortable dining and pleasurable ambience.

Since 2003, the restaurant is run by Regula Gloor Belide and Catharina Joss who, with a touch of woman-power, have lent the “Bürgli” a fresh look: The smaller dining room at the back is adorned with a flashy 1960s-orange, while the refurbished garden with its landmarked little pleasure bower and its aperitif-lounge is decorated with elegant flower pots.

There is a little “chambre separée” on the first floor which, with its cosy couches, is ideal for a little aperitif in wintertime or a small family get-together.
